SOMA reported on a very successful drupa 2016

SOMA reported on a very successful drupa 2016 where the company’s new Optima 2 flexographic printing press was officially launched endorsing the already well established Optima technology that places it alongside the world's premier manufacturers of flexographic printing presses.

More than 1500 visitors saw numerous demonstrations of the Optima press for mid web applications as well as those on the new Optima 2 for wide web production running the ARUN plate mounting system developed in cooperation with the press maker, Allstein GmbH.

Anyone that missed the Soma Optima demonstrations at drupa missed the chance to see some of the most challenging designs for flexo printers printing at high speeds as well as the company’s technology in eliminating print bounce, job set-up with zero waste and printing with minimum residual ink through Soma’s patented Ink cartridge system using 100 L/cm screen.

Commenting on the show, Soma’s Pavla Kusa said, “drupa was an enormous success for us with five new Optima 2 presses sold worldwide. Many key global players who visited our stand at drupa showed a real interest in the Optima 2 machine. This confirmed to us that the new machine was a hit with its new, unique technology. Many important customers also visited our SOMA Globe Technology & Training centre for printing trials after the show and we are now working on final negotiations with them, as well as on a number of enquiries for ongoing projects that are very promising. We believe the Optima 2 is the only machine pushing the boundaries of wide web flexographic printing in comparison to gravure because we know that we can print these jobs through the flexographic printing process on the Optima and this is a great feeling for us!” The Optima 2 is available for printing trials. Contact us to arrange a visit to the SOMA Globe Technology & Training center, Lanskroun, Czech Republic.
