Paperworld 2022: Hybrid working in focus at the Future of Work Academy lecture area

After the successful premiere of the "Future Office" in 2017, this will now be called Future of Work Academy and will take place as a lecture area. Next year's motto is "Hybrid Working" - with aspects around New Work, Sustainability and Home Office. At the Academy, selected expert speakers will talk about the current changes in the world of work, digital solutions for collaboration and sustainable concepts for a modern workplace.

The Future of Work Academy lecture area is aimed at architects, facility managers and planners as well as dealers in office supplies and furnishings. The lecture area is located in Hall 3.0 Stand C51 and will deliver all-day lectures during Paperworld from 29 January to 1 February 2022, highlighting a different set of topics and focus each day.

On Saturday, 29 January 2022, the Office Trend Forum will be held in cooperation with Prima Vier Verlag. On this day, the specialist lectures will revolve around the new office working worlds. They are aimed particularly at facility managers and interior designers with an office background as well as office furnishing retailers and planners. It is about the possibilities and necessities of office-related activities in the home office, in the office and in so-called third places such as coworking spaces. Bridges will be built to the topics of digitalisation, health and ecological sustainability.

The theme day will begin at 11 a.m. with an overview lecture on "Office everywhere" by Dr. Robert Nehring, editor-in-chief of the OFFICE ROXX magazine from cooperation partner Prima Vier. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Jennifer Gunkel, Professor of Applied Psychology and Dean of Studies at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, will talk about hybrid working. Milena Bockstahler from the Fraunhofer IAO will present previously unpublished results of a new home office study. Finally, Dr. Jens Gebhardt and Burkhard Remmers will discuss other current office trends, such as ecological sustainability. The lecture day will end at around 2 pm.

Sunday, 30 January 2022, is specifically aimed at architects, interior designers, office planners and facility managers. The programme begins at 10:30 a.m. with a lecture by Peter Ippolito from the Ippolito Fleitz Group entitled "Decidedly in-between", which shows that there are always different answers to the current challenges of the working world. Stefan Amann from Hildebrand Studios AG will then speak about "feeling@work - openness as a design principle" and underpin this with three projects and their design strategy.

After the lunch break, Margit Sichrovsky from LXSY Le Roux Sichrovsky Architekten will speak on the topic of "Exploring the Future in Action" at 1 pm. She is of the opinion that theme-based work and joint knowledge transfer will take up more space in everyday working life. Finally, Petra Pfeifer and Andreas Moser of Cyrus Moser Architekten will address the topics of individuality, security, flexibility and identification with "We - I - We". Cooperation partner is PSA Publishers / world-architects.

On Monday, 31 January 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the focus will be on the topics of digitalisation in retail, artificial intelligence and sustainability in the office economy - thus particularly addressing retailers, manufacturers and purchasing managers. On this day, everything will also revolve around assortment composition in times of pandemics as well as security and hygiene. E-commerce, artificial intelligence and sustainability are the focal points of the lecture by Andreas Reuter, CEO Schäfershop. Supply chains (problems), sustainable purchasing and digitalisation will be explained by Yvonne Jamal from the JARO Institute.

Procurement expert Siegfried Frankenstein will talk about the digital pact as well as the current opportunities for trade. Also on board are the eco mail order company memo, a representative of the Mercateo/Unite platform as well as Christian Haeser, Managing Director of Handelsverband Wohnen und Büro (Home and Office Trade Association) and Volker Jungeblut, Managing Director of Verband der PBS-Markenindustrie (Association of the Stationery Brand Industry). The theme day is being implemented in cooperation with the trade journals BusinessPartner PBS and C.ebra from Chmielorz Verlag.

Tuesday, 1 February 2022, is dedicated to sustainable products and environmentally conscious purchasing with the Sustainable Office Day. Expert presentations and best practice examples from the winners of the "Office & Environment" competition will present concrete approaches to sustainable and environmentally friendly office equipment. The theme day will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a short introduction by Dieter Brübach from the German Environmental Management Association (B.A.U.M.). This will be followed by the topic of sustainable procurement of paper and office materials.

"It's all about the whole - the future of the office" is the title of the lecture by Burkhart Remmers from Wilkhahn. After Ute Papenfuß from the Agency for Renewable Resources has spoken about sustainable procurement and Beatriz Bilfinger from nachhaltig.digital about digital work and sustainability, there will be a discussion round with all the speakers. The afternoon will then be devoted to the award ceremony for the "Office and Environment" competition and the associated interviews and best-practice examples, as well as the launch of the competition for the following year. The Paperworld team will be supported by B.A.U.M. e.V. as a cooperation partner.

The expert lectures by Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano on Paperworld and Christmasworld Trends 22+ "facing forward" also offer valuable guidance when it comes to modern and, at the same time, high-turnover assortment design and product presentation. This time, they will be held live at the Christmasworld Academy in Galleria 1 - at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Trend expert Claudia Herke will impart knowledge about the current trends in fashion and product design, which are decisive for the coming colours, materials and designs in the office or home office. Knowledge that is helpful for individual product selection at the fair and boosts successful sales in your own shop.

In addition to the live lectures, there will be a digital stream of the lecture in the Paperworld Trend Area in Hall 3.1, which will be broadcast continuously. The lecture programme can be found in the event calendar and is updated continuously.

Selected lectures will be streamed live for the supplementary digital platform. They can then be found on the Conzoom Solutions platform. In this way, the fair networking is extended and intensified on a digital level: That means visitors can be there live as well as network online. The digital addition offer is aimed in particular at trade buyers who cannot come to Frankfurt in 2022 due to Corona regulations. Digital exchange via 1-to-1 video calls or chats is already possible one week before and two weeks after the event. And via the already established online exhibitor search, Conzoom Solutions and Nextrade, there is digital added value all year round - in the sense of product inspiration, knowledge updates and ordering opportunities.

As usual, Paperworld will be held together with the international consumer-goods fairs Christmasworld and Creativeworld at the end of January: Christmasworld: 28 January to 1 February 2022, Paperworld and Creativeworld: 29 January to 1 February 2022.
